Befriend Cosmo!

Injury:  Missing right eye

Cosmo is a Northern Saw-whet owl that came to the Center in the summer of 2004.  He was discovered by a concerned citizen who found him on the ground.   It is guessed he injured his eye somehow in the nest, possibly by a nest mate or stick.   Unfortunately the eye never healed.  An adult owl mainly uses its ears for hunting and therefore could learn to adapt to just one eye.  A young owl with no hunting experience, though, needs both eyes and ears to get started and survive. Cosmo's mission at the Center is to teach people about the smallest owl in WI.
